Fall Ball 2017

Dear Parent(s) and Players,

Welcome to the 2017-2018 Park City High School Boys Lacrosse year.  We are excited to start another lacrosse season.

We will break our 2017/2018 lacrosse year down into 3 distinct seasons:

  • Fall Mid September through Mid October – Season consists of 2-3 practices a week with some scrimmaging.  No team designations during this season. (see below  for details on the 2017 Fall Season)
  • Winter – October through January – Consists primarily of 2 or 3 strength and conditioning days with a few captain’s practices mixed in when field space is available. We generally partner with a local gym and will have professional trainers develop specialized work out routines for our players. The details of this will be coming out in late September or early October. No team designations during this season
  • Spring - Mid January through May – This is the regular season and we will have 3 teams (Varsity, JV and Fresh/Sop) provided the number of registered players supports such.  We participate in the Utah High School Lacrosse League (“UHSLL” link to website  Practices and league games may require a Monday through Saturday commitment from players. Team selection (Varsity, JV & Fresh/Sop) is competitive and coaches will make all selections.

2017 Fall Season Details

The HS fall season is a time for players who are not engaged in other sports to enhance stick skills, increase lacrosse IQ, and improve strength and conditioning. We strongly encourage all that can, to participate because the improvements made during this five (5) week cycle will be quite beneficial come spring time. Practices will teach all our terminology, our work ethic and our culture.    Coaches will be running the practices; however our returning upper classmen will play a vital role in welcoming new players to our lacrosse community while demonstrating what our values and culture looks like on the practice field.

Practices will begin on September 12th and run through October 14th.  All weekday practices will be from 5:00 -7:00pm, unless communicated otherwise.  Scrimmages, both inter-squad and with other teams, will be slated for Saturdays and the times for those days will be conveyed at a later date.  The field schedule for the fall season is as follows:

  • Tuesdays: Quinn's Turf (5 - 7PM)
  • Thursdays: City Park Grass (5 - 7PM)
  • Saturdays: Dozier Field - Variable Times

Players must have all required equipment before entering the field (helmet, arm pads, shoulder pads, glove, reversible pinnie and stick).  It is expected that all players be ready and on the field at by the start time.  Part of our culture is to be disciplined and maximize the time we have on the field.
