Park City played their first round playoff game Wednesday night at home on the wet and rainy Dozier Field vs Jordan. The PC boys' team came in as the #1 seed in the state tournament for the first time in its 18-year history. Ten days earlier, Park City defeated the same Beetdigger team on the same field by a score of 18-2. This game was also never really in doubt as the Miners went on to win, 14-5, and give Andy Langendorf his 50th win as the Miner’s Head Coach.

PC jumped all over Jordan early and took a 9-0 lead into the half. They came out firing in the 3rd quarter, never letting up until the score was 14-1 when the coaches pulled the starters midway through the stanza. Leading the way for Park City was the attack trio of Kolton Atkinson (1g 4a), Cole Flinders (4g), and Beau Pederson (3g 1a). Leading the midfield scoring were 1st liners JJ Pickard (1g 2a), Chad Merrick (2g), and Tucker Mirams (1g 1a). Also registering points on the day was Trent Clifford (1g 1a), Cage Lewis (1g), and Rhino Smith (1a). PC dominated the faceoff x; Jackson Burton was 13 for 16 (7gb) before giving way to Zack Danninger, who won  5 of 7 (8gb). Goalie Ian Sime (3 saves on 4 shots) played 3 quarters between the pipes before Connor French (3 saves on 7 shots) closed it out. The starting defense of Greenwald (3cto), Hales, Turner (1cto), and Chase Flinders (2cto) only allowed 1 goal (man-down) on the day while they were on the field.

Park City will now play Spanish Fork at home (TBA) in Round 2 of the playoffs.
