Stats Training for High School Games

February 5th, PCHS Room 144  NOTE ROOM CHANGE!

Training for Girls' Game: 6:00-7:30 p.m.
Training for Boys’ Game: 7:30-9:00 p.m.

This training is mandatory for high school; youth participants are welcome to join us!

RSVP: Annie HerrNeckar herrneckar@comcast.net. She will forward you information to review in advance and bring with you. Bring this information and paper and pen to the training session.

Park City High School Girls and Boys lacrosse are required by ULA to have at least two (2) certified statisticians at all varsity games (home and away).

 PCLO is fortunate that the ULA Stats trainer Annie Henneckar is coming to Park City to train those interested in playing this critical role  (it saves having to trek to SLC on a future date).  Annie is a wonderful and entertaining instructor and extremely knowledgeable of the boys and girls games.

ANYONE having ANY interest in stats should attend this event even if you are unsure if you will ultimately help with stats.  Being involved might mean any of the following:

  1. recording one type of stat (e.g. which opponent shot on goal - a stat coaches might want to see at halftime)
  2. compiling recorded data for upload to ULA after game;
  3. compiling data for historical purposes (end of season or career stats for All American and end of season awards);
  4. tracking your son's or daughter's stats.

Understanding stats will help you understand the game and the rules better.  It is a different appreciation for the game.  That said, for some, it can be something they are ok doing some of the time but not all of the time.  For this reason, the more people our teams have that are certified and have the training, the better.

Thank you.
